What is Critical Hit ?
Critical Hit (Touche Critique in French) is an online publication dedicated to smart miniature wargames that are often overshadowed by the industry giant. Our mission is to give these games the visibility they deserve and help their communities grow — especially by guiding new players toward their Discord groups. Through our guides, advice, and original content, we aim to shine a light on these tactically rich wargames that offer a deep and rewarding gameplay experience.
These games deserve a bigger spot in your game collection – and we’re here to make that happen.

The driving force behind Critical Hit
With Critical Hit, I’m all about getting straight to the point: providing practical, fluff-free guides designed to help you level up and gain the edge in-game. My approach is to read between the lines and extract what actually matters, rather than just repeating the same old advice found everywhere else. My goal is to turn Critical Hit into a go-to reference library, a place you can dive into whenever you need a boost of inspiration or progress.

As a competitive gamer and content creator at heart, I’ve been exploring the miniature gaming scene for many years. My tournament-driven mindset was forged on Warhammer 40K and Warmachine—the game where I first started writing strategy guides, hobby tutorials, and hosting podcasts. After diving into various scenes like the Pokémon TCG (on YouTube) and Infinity N4, I am currently channeling my competitive drive into Marvel Crisis Protocol, a game I am particularly fond of.

From lightsabers to the intrigues of Westeros, I’ve been completely hooked by the miniatures gaming bug! While I first got my start blasting clone troopers across the battlefield in Star Wars: Legion, my true revelation was A Song of Ice and Fire. It’s far more than a clash of armies—it’s a political struggle where backroom schemes can be just as deadly as the swords on the battlefield. And I absolutely love it!

I fell into the wargaming hobby back in the 1990s, and I've never looked back. I'm always eager to discover new rulesets, whether they're historical or set in science fiction or fantasy worlds. Some games, however, keep drawing me back, including Infinity, One Page Rules, Fireball Forward, Blücher, 5 Leagues from the Borderlands, and 5 Parsecs from Home. While I'm not particularly competitive, I love the hobby for the games themselves—and there's nothing quite like meeting fellow wargamers across the table at a tournament !

Bolt Action Chronicler
I have been passionate about imaginative worlds since childhood, between toy soldiers and role-playing games. In the 90s, I delved into wargames like Squad Leader and Warhammer 40K. Today, I spend my time painting miniatures, working on my own game, and playing Bolt Action, my current favorite wargame.

The finder of indie worlds & adventures
From Frostgrave to Alkemy, Relicblade to Freebooter's Fate, from sci-fi to historical, through every shade of fantasy, post-apocalypse, and steampunk, I love immersing myself in these worlds that let us soar, travel, and, most importantly, have a lot of fun!
McKenna
The storyteller of asphalt & dystopian worlds
Roleplayer, wargamer, and storyteller at heart: I play, therefore I am! While you'll mostly find me here covering Gaslands, my passion doesn't stop there. As a huge Star Wars fan, I regularly deploy my forces in Legion and X-Wing. Whenever the opportunity pops up, I'm also always down for a thrilling game of Formula Dé or Zombies!!!. I can't wait to share my love for sci-fi and dystopian worlds with all of you!
