Do you love Star Wars: Legion and have things to say about it? If writing is another passion you cherish, then jump aboard the Critical Hit starship and take the helm of the Legion section!
Why become a Star Wars: Legion writer on Critical Hit?
Becoming a Legion writer means covering a game in full swing. With the relaunch of the new edition and the release of the latest starters (Rebel, Empire, CIS, or Republic), the game’s popularity is booming.
Joining Critical Hit also means writing for an audience that’s already here: since the beginning of 2025, over 10,000 people have visited Critical Hit, with 17,000 page views dedicated solely to Star Wars: Legion content. If you’re looking for a platform to share tactical guides, list-building ideas, interviews, or personal favorites, you’re in the right place. 😉
By joining us, you’ll be part of a team of six writers to exchange ideas with, ask for advice, and work toward a common goal: promoting outstanding wargames and growing their communities!

What about you, Jack?

After three and a half years covering Star Wars: Legion on Critical Hit, it’s time for me to pass the torch to another writer to manage this popular section of the site.
Legion has been a wonderful passion. It’s the game that brought me back into miniatures wargaming and even the reason this site exists in the first place. But over time, Critical Hit has evolved—just like my passions, interests, and projects. So, no more Legion guides and analysis from me. These days, I want to write about other topics.
I’d like to focus on the Wargamer’s life and Communities sections. They inspire me to write more in-depth articles, with a more journalistic approach. These sections allow me to explore broader topics, which is what appeals to me most right now. That said, this new direction doesn’t mean I’ll stop writing about games altogether. It just means my attention will mainly be on communities and our shared wargaming journey.
What happens to the Legion section if nobody takes over?
I still have a few Star Wars: Legion articles in the pipeline. But once they’re all published, the section will start to gather dust. Is that a problem? Not really—because those guides will remain relevant to future new players. They’ll find plenty of answers to their questions there, and above all, the Discord links to join their local communities.
Even if no new writer steps in, the site will continue to fulfill its mission—and to me, that’s what truly matters.
