What is Touche Critique?
Touche Critique is a platform dedicated to overlooked miniature games that deserve the attention of strategy enthusiasts and fans of refined mechanics. Our goal is to provide analyses, advice, and original content about wargames often overshadowed by the industry’s giants. These games, supported by passionate yet modest communities, struggle to find a place on our shelves. And yet, they are brimming with originality and depth, deserving to be brought into the spotlight.
Did you know ? Touche Critique is French for Critical Hit. |
Who are the editors?
The Touche Critique team is made up of several editors. Currently, we cover Star Wars Legion, Marvel: Crisis Protocol, and A Song of Ice and Fire.
Jack Brussell
I’m the founder of this site and also the main editor. Born in 1991 in Brussels, I (re)discovered miniature wargaming in 2020… to the point where I felt compelled to write about it!
This very website was created in January 2022 and was originally intended for french-speaking players with one goal: to provide useful and educational articles for the French-speaking Star Wars Legion community. But after two years, more than fifty articles and good reviews, it was time to share my writings with the rest of the world. So since 2024, I started to translate my posts in English.
Since September 2024, I set out to connect with other wargaming communities, aiming to expand the site’s focus to additional wargames such as Marvel Crisis Protocol and A Song of Ice and Fire.
Starpu
I’m Franck, also known as Starpu. I’ve just turned forty and got into the hobby when I was 12. Like many, I cut my teeth mostly on 40K and a bit on Fantasy Battle, but my competitive spirit truly emerged with Warmachine. I followed the game in France from the first starter set all the way to the release of MKIII. This is where I participated in my first podcasts and began writing strategy articles and modeling tutorials. After that, despite a brief stint with Guild Ball, I managed to convince myself that the hobby was no longer for me…
A few years later, driven by my long-time gaming opponents, I fell back into the hobby with the excellent Gaslands. However, I quickly realized I missed the competitive scene. After a brief foray into the Pokémon TCG, where I experimented with creating YouTube content, I finally gave free rein to my tournament-driven spirit with the release of Infinity N4 and, more recently, Marvel Crisis Protocol !
AlanAnas
My name is Alan, I’m 34 years old, and I’ve recently discovered the world of wargaming. A fan of the Total War games, I dove into this universe after coming across a Belgian YouTuber enthusiastically covering Total War: Warhammer 2. After reading through La Bibliothèque Impériale from top to bottom, I started taking an interest in Games Workshop and bought miniatures just for fun.
As a huge Star Wars fan, it was only natural that I fell in love with Star Wars Legion (how could you not enjoy blasting clones with an AAT Tank cannon?), but my real revelation came with A Song of Ice and Fire. It’s a game that’s not just about the clash of armies but also about behind-the-scenes scheming during battles!
